    Steven Spielberg and Kathleen Kennedy from Amblin Entertainment were supposed to meet Herge in 1983 while shooting Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom in London. But, Herge died that week itself. Herge's widow gave him the rights after Herge's death, as Herge was a huge fan of Spielberg.

    Thomas Gangster was supposed to play Tintin's character, but dropped out due to delay in the project from Universal Pictures opting out as the Producers in October 2008. Jamie Bell replaced Thomas Gangster.

    Spielberg acquired the rights of the movie after Herge's death in 1983. Shooting was supposed to start in 2008, but got delayed as Producers, Universal Pictures opted out of the project.

    Though all the actors in the movie have been animated using Motion Capture technology, Tintin's dog Snowy has been animated traditionally without using Motion Capture.
