"The Bong Connection" is a movie about two young men trying to achieve their dreams in a foreign land. Apu(Parambrata Chattopadhyay)is an I.T.Professional, who want to go to America for his career, as Kolkata is dying and stagnant according to him. On the other hand, Andy (Shayan Munshi) comes to Kolkata from New York, as for him Kolkata is still the Mecca of art and culture. In Kolkata Andy stays with his uncle (Arindam Sil), Aunty (Mamata Shankar), Bhaida (Saswata Chattopadhyay) and Boudi (June Maliah)and his bed ridden grand father(Soumitra Chattopadhyay).Coincidentally he meets Apu's girlfriend Sheela(Raima Sen). Andy's passion is eastern music and in Kolkata. He tries to work on that, but he faces failure everywhere. On the other hand, Apu meets with Hasan (Shauvik)and Rita (Peeya Roy Chowdhury) in US. Hasan is a Taxi driver but due to his illigal immigrant status the police shoots him, as he was not ready to surrender. Apu Starts feeling love for Rita but cannot forget Sheela as well. When Apu's boss Garry (Vicitor Banerjee) fires his room mate just because he is homosexsual, Apu tries to fight against this injustice. Gradually he understands that his principles and culture are totally different from the new environment. In Kolkata with Andy's grandfather's death he discovers a new face of his uncle. His uncle wants to sell the property to a promoter for financial benefits. Andy opposes the proposal but his uncle in anger askes him to leave the house. As the two stories run in parallel, both the protagonists decide to leave their respective alien countries and to return to thier mother lands. Sheela comes to escort Andy at the airport and just after the departure of Andy she discovers that Apu has come back.
