Composer of this movie Sagar Desai got a Japanse musician on board for the background score. The japanese instrumentalist (Koto player) Miyama came to India for the recording. Miyama also sung a japanese love poem in the background as singing is an essential accompaniment for the instrument (Koto).

The movie is based on the title story of "The Japanese Wife and Other Stories" by Kunal Basu, who writes from Oxford. This film was earlier titled as "The Kite", but later changed to the name of the original story title.
