The film was a welcome change after Rituparno's previous film Antarmahal which was a film bereft of aesthetic qualities.. Amitabh Bachchan's acting skills are unsurpassed.. There is no definite linear storyline, but the narrative technique used is the most popular one now - going to and fro with the various voices of the film/story.. All of them finally add up to make the plot.. The name of the film sows a certain kind of idea in the mind about the film - the audience expects a Shakespearean plot or at most an Elizabethan theme.. This play in spite of its many other positive points has almost nothing from the Bard apart from a few lines from a couple of his plays.. The ending becomes a bit ambiguous when all the characters freeze and only the lines from Lear resound throughout..
