This film is a tribute to the great Tapan Sinha from the entire industry including the technicians. He had written the script as well as composed the music, but before he could start work on that film, unfortunately he expired. Soon after Raja Sen decided to complete the film along with R. Jalan the producer of most of Tapan Sinha’s films.
The film is a very clean and neat film as is expected from the late maestro (most of the film belongs to him though Raja Sen is the director).
The film is about three retired old friends-Nabin, Nagen and Naren who are early morning walkers and discuss a lot of things about life when they walk everyday. They decide to give life a totally new meaning by keeping themselves occupied as well as helping themselves. They decide to take over a tea stall which had shut down (owned by Mrinmoy, Nabin’s student) and give it a new life. Within a month it makes profits and runs though there are acouple of hiccups on the way. Mrinmoy and Debalina (Nabin’s tenant’s daughter who he is very close to) decide to run a tutorial from Nabin’s house.
This film is wholesome entertainment for the entire family irrespective of age and shows that there is life even after retirement and one can help oneself/others by doing anything which might interest him/her. It shows age is just a number and that the young also have a lot to learn from the elderly
P.S-The star of the show is Kanchana Maitra as Dumpy, the young mod maid servant in Nagen’s house. She is unrecognizable and secondly she is nothing less than brilliant!
