    • Feluda (Sabyasachi) comes across Naba Niyogi on the road when he is returning to Kolkata one day from the outskirts with his associates Topshe (Parambrata) and Lalmohan Babu (Bibhu Bhattacharya). They help him to fix his car, so Naba Noyogi asks Feluda to accompany him to his ancestral mansion in Baikunthapur. On reaching there they discover that Naba Niyogi hails from a well to do family and he resides in a mansion with his father, servant, a caretaker and assistant and two guests, Rudrashekhar, a first cousin of Nabakumar (his uncle’s son) and a journalist called Rabin Choudhury who is doing a story on Nabakumar’s uncle Chandrashekhar who was a very famous painter. Rudrashekhar has appeared after 30 years but he never communicates with anybody nor is he ever seen. In Chandrashekhar’s studio. Feluda discovers a priceless painting of the famous Italian renaissance painter called Tintoretto. A few attempts are made to take the painting though they are unsuccessful. Feluda comes to know that a guy called Somani is after the painting (he is actually an agent of a rich Hongkong based art collector). Rudrashekhar manages to take the painting as he is dire need of money and replaces the original painting with the fake one. He is captured by Somani instead. In the meantime, Rabin Choudhury lands up Feluda’s house and tells him he has discovered an Italian newspaper cutting in Chandrashekha’s studio which states that Rudrashekhar is dead. Feluda realizes that the person pretending to be Rudrashekhar is fake. Somani leaves for Hongkong with the painting to sell it to his buyer. Feluda and his associates go after him to prevent him from doing so, but is prevented from doing initially by goons employed by Somani. Rabin goes there and joins them and he turns out to be none other than Rajshekhar, grandson of Chandrashekhar. Somani buyer realizes that it is a fake painting, but it is too late. Nevertheless Feluda and his associates track him down and help in recovering the paid amount from Somani.
