Tum hi to ho:
When the music started i sat up thinking good music and on top of it the song is sung by Abhijit, so the expectations were sky high. But, somehow i could not connect with mr.abhijit's singing. becoz, u know he has given such beautiful songs like badi mushkil hai, kahin to milegi, chandni raat hai... etc. with AM. Mayb, AM wanted to try a different kind of song with Abhijit, and we as listeners are so used to the soft romantic and melodious songs from the combo. In a nutshell, it did not reach my heart. But, it is a good try.
Dil ne mere dil ne:
A top notch romantic song. Hearing such a beauty in a long long time. Very beautifully arranged and rendered too. It lingers in the mind for a long time even after u have stopped hearing. I hope it is picturised beautifully too. Becoz, it so happens that most of the good romantic melodies of AM are never justified while being picturised. TThe semi-classical music in between gives a southern touch to it.
Aye Khuda dardogam ka silsila:
A very good song indeed. especially, the second version is too good. After the first song, each song was surprising me. It was not like the previous albums of AM more like the good old romantic melodies are making a comeback kind of a feeling. The feeling of love is encrypted in each note.
Teri shamein mere savere:
A very young kind of feel in the music. Shaan's energetic voice with Gayatri is too good. Its not sounding like noise, even though the music is peppy. I just hope the young crowd gets to hear this.
Aao manayein jashn:
Makes my heartbreak, when i think that so many years of creativity of this amazingly talented duo was wasted, and they are accused mostly by people that they copied from their counterparts. I haven't heard such a nice dance number which has good lyrics and catchy tunes in a long time. This song should be sent to the pubs and discotheques as soon as possible. Let the young crowd dance to it and make it a national anthem.
Rock you baby:
Just what the new age crowd would ask for. Its really a mad mad song. This song rocks a good mix of young and old voices. Mr.Arun Bakshi is never sounding old. He brings a lot of freshness to the song.
Its a thoroughly enjoyable album. Did this album shock me? no, it surprised and amazed me, becoz, no one can say that it is typical AM fare. Worth the wait for all AM fans and lovers of good music. Pleases the ears of all alike. I hope this is just a small beginning towards their comeback into the film music scene. This album should give them the necessary boost towards all their future projects. AM have proved that old is gold. rather old is platinum. The songs made me smile and it means a lot to me too.
So thinking about the growth i have made listening to the music of AM, i am thankful to them for having made me realise how good music can transform ur life. and here i am reviewing their music too. my growth has been immense in that sense.
During my bachelor days, i used to stay at
Sion, and there was a slum nearby. One night there happened to be some function at the slums and music was playing loud. I saw two little kids dancing, out of curiosity i listened to which song had made them dance so happily. It was koyal si teri boli from Beta, it was so heartwarming. Even now whenever i hear the song i am reminded of the little kids. Some incidents and songs just remain with u forever.
There is another incident too. It was some Valentine's day and the music of Love is Life had just been released. I went to one of the music shops to find something to gift my wife. And, it so happened, that the shop keeper was playing the songs of Love is life, the songs attracted me very much, that i ended up buying the album. My wife is still crazy about the album. I should tell you my entire family loves Anand Milind and not a day passes by without our listening to their music. thank you for the opportunity. i hope we get to listen more and more good music from the talented duo called Anand Milind.
