    Not only about Sexual Relationships!

Vicky Cristina Barcelona…my goodness what a film that was! It’s a very open minded film but somewhere somehow I am getting mixed feelings about this movie. The way the writer and the director had shown us the meaning of the relationships, is so pathetic! I agree that somewhere its might be fact, what they had shown to us might be practical, but don’t know why, I am getting a very bad feeling and as well as a spectacular feeling about this movie. But one thing I am sure, the Indian audience won’t feel good about this movie.

Let me introduce you to the story of this weird film. Vicky (Rebecca Hall) & Cristina (Scarlet Johansson) are two best friends. Vicky is about to get married to the man of her life Doug (Chris Messina) & Cristina was just broke up with her Boyfriend recently. When they were dining together, a stranger young guy who is a very passionate painter and recently was separated with his wife, Juan Antonio (Javier Bardem) met them and suddenly invited them for an outing weekend with him and also invited them to share a bed relationship with him after the outing. Vicky was very annoyed by this sudden and weird behavior by some stranger and directly said NO. Cristina fined some interest in that guy and said YES. Vicky also travelled with them because she was not trusting Antonio and had a care of his friend. Soon Antonio welcomed and impressed them by his warmed gentleman’s behavior, as he definitely was from inside. Later after some sightseeing Cristina and Antonio were about to share a bed but suddenly Cristina fall a sick. In the morning Antonio invited Vicky for sightseeing, she actually hated him but later also accepted the invitation by having an open mind. That day Vicky was very much impressed by Antonio’s warm behavior and later that night they both slept with each other. This was not aware to that Cristina. Soon in the morning they all flied back to their place.

Vicky’s wedding preparation was on fully fledged but was not able to forget that night. After some few days Antonio called only Cristina and invited her for a dinner. She shared this good news to Vicky, she felt a little complexity but she was happy for her friend. Soon Cristina and Antonia became a love partner; she shifted to Antonio’s house and shared an open relationship with him. Vicky still was feeling something complexness in her and was so confused, but she decided to just flow on with her this life and finally got married with the man of her life Doug.

Later to that news came to Antonio that her ex-wife Maria (Penelope Cruz) tried to kill herself in terms of depression. He quickly brought her to his home and decided that until and unless she is not cured fully she will stay there. This initially went wrong to Cristina who was also staying there with Antonio, but later she understood the situation. As the days passed, Cristina shared a good understanding between Maria. Later she was also comfortable that Maria and Antonio are sharing their bed relationships. Later Cristina herself was also much more comfortable in sharing sexual relationship with Maria. And later on all three were comfortable with each other. Amazing na!

Cristina shared this thing to her best friend Vicky, initially she felt weird but later she was happy to see happy how her friend is, but also still was feeling a little disturbed and still was confused. After some few weeks, Cristina felt that she can’t live like this through her whole life so she just want to move away from here. As she went, after some days the same misunderstanding problems occurred in between Antonio and Maria, and finally she also separated again from him. Now Vicky is somewhat interested in Antonio and was about to have a sexual relationship with him but just then Maria entered and started firing from gun on her. She also accidently got hit on her hand. Angrily she just ran away from there and after some few days she shared the whole thing about how she was attracted to Antonia from that night onwards to her best friend Cristina. She was surprised but the both decided to just delete this whole issue from their life. At the end they showed us that Vicky is again not satisfied with her marriage life and Christina is again single and seeking some good relationship.

What a movie! It has a very depressing end and at the same time showed us the factual and practical points happening in some area of the country. If you have watched the film “Dev D”, then this film will just give you the same feeling which you felt for that film.

I honestly like just two things from the film, the styling of the film, especially the Voice Over style, and the performance given by all of the stars, especially by Penelope Cruz.

Recommended for foreign beings, and “Highly” not recommended for Indian beings.
