Wake up the blocked cubicles in your heart

The plot may be already seen. But the small emotions, small wishes, big aspirations yet little daily happiness-es makes this film worth watching and appreciating.
Wake up Sid , fisrt of all do a good justice to the nomenclature of the film. The sleepy nature of Sid may be just symbolic, but its all about waking up from ones own self to a different level, where commitment, responsibilities, togetherness matters. Where life is not all about playstations, emails, junk foods, tequila shots, dancing parties ... » read more

i don't know whether someone is upto something or that they actually liked the movie. Karan Johar has made a mould for the movie that he creates. All love stories with no depth. You can easily tell the plot of the movie within the first half hour. The job that Ranbir will take up eventually and also the relation between ranbir and Konkona.
the movie hence is a drag in many parts but its delightful to watch Konkona and Ranbir play their roles.
its a 'can' watch movie and not a must watch. Skip it and you wouldn't have missed much. Watch it if you are a Konkona ... » read more

Wake up! It's not just for Sid but for the Sid inside all of us.

Debutant director Ayan Mukharjee redefines "fresh cinema" with Wake up Sid. The story of a rather spoilt rich brat Sid who plays on his PSP, reads comics, clicks pictures and spends his father's money. Sidharth Verma is a nobody without his father. A complete contrast to Sid is Aisha, she’s from Kolkatta and she’s in Mumbai to lead an independent life. She wants to earn her own money, have her own house; she has dreams, goals and aspirations. Wake up Sid is a story of realization… of growing up ... » read more

Reality Bytes, But Only A Little Bit

Been there, seen that. The makers take a safe route and ensemble a viable cast to portray conflict of interests and subsequent wake up to reality. The USP lies in the subject narration and the basic troubled mindset of the urban youth to which a large strata of population connects very easily…

Siddharth “Sid” Mehra (Ranbir), by definition a “spoilt careless brat” and engrossed in his friend circle including Rishi and Laxmi (Namit Das and Shikha Talsania), has little time to think and plan for his future. He just wants ... » read more

    Reference to Sid…

Many times when we watch a film, there are some scenes which touches us or we feel are exactly the same as in our real life. We feel connected with the film or its character or the subject and feel bit special while watching the film. But then there are some films having a topic which knowingly or unknowingly has occurred in one’s life but nothing big to remember or feel for it which is coming up of the age. Wake up Sid is a film with something similar concept about growing up from a boy to man. For some it’s quick as jiffy, thus no fuss about ... » read more

    Refreshing Wake Up!

It was a dark night; I was so tired from the office, forcibly watching the film just for the sake for my best friend. Film completed and she said “you are tired na…sorry yar…now sleep well.” I said “Nope…Thanks…I just woke up…Thanks for refreshing me” :-)

The exact same sentence you will say when you will just walk out from the good old theatre after watching this amazing film, “I Woke up and this film really refreshed me!” and that will be your review.

Thank you Ayan Mukherjee the director to present such an entertaining movie at his tender age! It is really thoutghtful for him to think of such plot of a spoilt brat to necome a matured person through hardship. This is a story of a rich and spoilt boy who when thrown out of his known protected circle realised the actual
    happenings of the real world.
It is indeed a realisation for anybody who passes adolesence to an open world of reality! It is also a lessen to a;; individuals and their parents that everyone should find out His/her own field of liking and go for ... » read more

    ammazing story of this year....

Recall those years when partying hard was the only agenda on your list. Recall those years when staying awake at nights, chatting away with friends became a habit. Recall those years when bunking college and sneaking into movie halls was more exciting than books.

Recall those years when you were completely clueless and aimless about the vocation you wanted to pursue once you graduated… That indecisive phase when you were hesitant to take that first big step in life can never be erased from your memory.

Really A Wake Up In Boring Movies

Debutant Director Ayan Mukerji has hit the strike by converting a simple script to a mind-blowing movie. The script is very simple and catchable by promos, but after watching the movie you will ask yourself "How, I Mean How Can It Be?". Ranbir Kapoor has surely improved his acting and done a fantabulous job in this flick. Konkona is always good and still no change. Anupam Kher & Supriya pathak has done well as Sid's parents.

The story is of a lazy, non-working boy Siddhart Mehra - Sid(Ranbir) who has no goal in his life ... » read more

    A Stale-Old Drama!

Son of a rich businessman is thrown out of his home by his father for his hideous and carefree lifestyle. He ends us with an "epiphany" and finally gets into a job and and finds a girlfriend and is relocated back home.

W SID has nothing that the makers can claim as genuine. Sid is just a rehashed version of Hrithik in Lakshya and even Ranbir of Bachna he haseeno. Aisha is a straight lift from Konkanas char in Luck By Chance.

The direction lacks of creativity and is clichéd and terribly ... » read more
