    We are F…ools!!

Karan Johar directly hits the audience where our Indian Audience generally gets fools, yes its emotional part, and who traps in that are known as emotional fools. It’s good to be emotional, but in films and movies if it’s being well presented then this emotional formula works, otherwise it sucks.

It’s the story of about one family, where there is husband (Arjun Rampal as Aman) who is being divorced, and wife (Kajol as Maya) who stays along with their three kids. Yet they are being divorced but still they all love each other and care for each other, ... » read more

First thing first, people who have loved Susan Sarandon-Julia Roberts “Stepmom”, it’s a request please leave the film back home and then only you can enjoy this Indian Adaptation. I won’t be comparing the film with the original Hollywood version, simply for the reason that this one has been officially adapted from the original makers, given perfect due, not basking on originals glory and has been totally Indian-ized {ok, NRI-ized to be precise}. But still expectations are bound to interfere and hence let’s find out does this Karan Johar production’s stylish family drama ... » read more

    A Fine Family Drama

We Are Family rating: 0 out of 10

I have no complaints from We Are Family.

I didn’t expect to be writing that, I didn’t expect We Are Family to be any good. I didn’t expect it to be a good adaption of Stepmom; I didn’t expect it to maybe even be better. But on all counts, We Are Family has risen above expectations.

Director Siddharth P Malhotra and producer Karan Johar deserve full marks for reigning in the drama. You associate Johar’s movie with intense melodrama, thankfully We Are Family is handled maturely enough and doesn’t go overboard. There are no unnecessary sequences where ... » read more

Sob! Sob! (For my tickets money)

We Are Family rating: 4 out of 10

Director Siddharth Malhotra doesn't disappoint on the gloss factor, but he gets the opportunity of a lifetime to work with two top actresses in his debut film, and somehow seems torn about doing equal justice to them. Also he somehow tries too hard and seems in a hurry to make you bring out your kerchiefs. In the film's finale, Siddharth makes Arjun wear a beard that's ready to fall off any second. And that’s the height! That's when the film goes completely into the '80s mode.

On the dialogue note, when Kajol learns she has Cervical Cancer, she breaks downs in ... » read more

Only the good part here is…

1.The children’s: They played a crucial part and Malhotra ensures they don't go over-the-top. All the kids Aanchal Munjal, Nominath Jinsberg and Diya Sonecha are adorable and well cast and unlike children in most Indian films. They are just superb, especially Diya Sonecha who plays Anjali. Also Aanchal Munjal wins your heart with her natural act. She as the elder daughter is poised and remarkable.

    2. Kajol: She is at her natural best. She captures the helplessness and anguish of Maya flawlessly. That shows that she portrays her character well! She internalizes ... » read more

    Boring and Boring

We Are Family rating: 4 out of 10

I've seen Stepmom, and quite enjoyed that movie. So at first I never planned to watch its Indian remake. But the "Reham-o-Karam" track changed my mind, coupled with the opportunity to watch Kajol exercise her histrionic muscles.

Should have kept with my first instincts. The film is just plain boring. There's not much else to say. I don't think the scenes are written very well, and the dialogue is clunky and unrealistic. Plus, one never really gets a chance to empathize with these characters because they all seem just so selfish and immature.

    Wholesome family entertainment

We Are Family rating: 8 out of 10

Kajol as the divorced over-protective mother is brilliant as usual. She did an amazing job despite being well into her pregnancy and her pregnancy does show in some scenes especially the jailhouse rock number. Kareena as the girlfriend is believable and genuine. The surprise package is Arjun Rampal who as the caring ex-husband and father is superb! The jailhouse rock number is very catchy and foot tapping. Karan Johar is bankable as always. Must watch movie. » read more

    Bollywoodisation of Stepmom

We Are Family rating: 0 out of 10

A nice and decent bollywoodised version of 'Stepmom'. A nice try as well to go against the central dogma of traditional thoughts of Indian society, yet retaining very much human. Arjun Rampal is very much the hero of the movie even after leaving the house with his wife and 3 kids.

There are obviously flaws in the storyline, none of girls in the whole world will opt to go to a rave party after listening that their mom is going to die soon. But these kinda mistakes should be very acceptable when the movie comes from the KJ school.

I am a big fan of Kajol. I did not like her much in My Name is Khan, but it was good to see her in We are Family. Karan Johar deals with family issues, emotions very nicely. Even though inspired by an english movie, this was a nice movie to watch with family... even though at times it was a bit teary.... Kareena and Kajol did well together... so all together a nice movie... Arjun Rampal was OK.. it was more of a women oriented movie... but a one time see for sure.. » read more

really a good movie directed by Prem Kishen son and premnath's grandson Siddharth P.Malhotra. The film was just too good.
A story of Kajol-arjun-kareena and family.

Kajol is divorced from Arjun Rampal, and now Arjun is seeing Kareena, Arjun loves his three kids therefore he wants that kareena should know his kids better. But all becomes ulta phoolta when Kareena meets this three kids. Then comes teh tragedy part that Kajol is suffering from cancer and she knows that she is going to die therefore she brings kareena in the house.

The direction was good, ... » read more
