Lalita (Madhuri Dixit) is a beautiful young dancer who's living a peaceful life. Her peaceful life is disturbed by the entrance of a cruel and sadistic man named JB (Raj Babbar). JB wants Lalita to satiate his lust. He eventually kidnaps her with the help of her evil uncle. She is forced to stay at JB's huge mansion which feels like a prison to her. Lalita tries several tricks to get away from this prison, but to no avail. Fortunately, she escapes one night and meets a nice gentleman named Raj (Rishi Kapoor). Raj falls in love with Lalita at the first sight and wants to marry her. Raj takes her to his home to meet his grandfather. His grandfather approves of her and soon they are ready to get married. Unfortunately, JB finds out about Lalita's whereabouts and quickly traces her. JB enters Raj's house and claims that Lalita is his wife. Though Lalita denies about being married to JB, he somehow convinces Raj that he's telling the truth. So, Lalita is taken away and once again, she is in the same prison of JB. Will she be able to escape this ordeal or will fate take its cruel turn on her? Watching the film can only provide the answer.
This film is modelled after the Hollywood film Sleeping with the Enemy and the plot is quite the same. Madhuri Dixit is the only likeable star in Yaraana. Her acting and dancing skills were a plus for the film as usual. But the other actors, including the lead Rishi Kapoor, were boring or mediocre at best! You can watch this film only for MD and her dances!!!
