Zarine Khan is a 21yr old model turned actress. She was spotted by Salman on the sets of Yuvvraaj. He was shocked when he saw her and immediately asked the director Subhash Ghai about her. Subhash Ghai told Salman that he had called her via casting director Abhimanyu, as a body double to step into Katrina's shoes for a song, as Katrina couldn't give Ghai the required dates. So, no wonder, she is considered by many as a Katrina Kaif lookalike.

Salman called up Anil Sharma and asked him to audition Zarine for Veer and the rest is history. Zarine who weighed 54 kilos before the shoot, was told to put on weight so she looked fuller to play the lead opposite Salman. Apprently, Salman put Zarine on a chocolate diet making sure she ate cakes and pastries to appear more curvaceous. She piled on eight kgs after three months.

Zarine a pucca Mumbai girl and she claims to have been a very good student in school. In a recent interview, Zarine said, that she always aspired to be a doctor but financial constraints in the family didn't allow her to pursue her dreams. Fate had something else in store for her and she started doing small modeling assignments before she got this opportunity to work in Veer. She never thought that she would become an actor. She thinks, that she can also accomplish her pursuit of becoming a doctor in future.
